51 years of Cytozyme.
42 years with Indian farmers.
The story behind Verdesian Asia: Cytozyme’s crop and seed science, its long partnership with Indian agriculture, and how it became part of the Nutrient Use Efficiency People.
From Salt Lake City to Indian fields
Cytozyme Laboratories was founded in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1975. Its products – led by Crop+ for the growing crop and Seed+ for the seed – were built on naturally derived metabolites and nutrients designed to help plants take up nutrients, withstand stress and yield to their potential.
In 1984 Cytozyme began serving Indian agriculture. For more than four decades since, the same Indian team has worked with farmers, dealers and seed companies across the country – long before “biostimulant” became a regulated category in India.
In 2021 Cytozyme joined Verdesian Life Sciences. Today Verdesian Asia combines Cytozyme’s biology with Verdesian’s patented Nutrient Use Efficiency® technologies.

Cytozyme science, trusted since 1975
For more than five decades Cytozyme has helped growers get more from every seed and every nutrient – and for 42 of those years, Indian farmers have been part of that story. The same science continues today within Verdesian Life Sciences.

- Today
51 years of Cytozyme, 42 years in India
Verdesian Asia offers 19 products across seed treatment, fertilizer enhancers, biostimulants and nutrients – supported by agronomists across India and field trials on Indian farms.

Seed-applied science, from Seed+ to Seed 100 CL
Seed treatment has been at the heart of Cytozyme since its earliest products. Seed+ delivered nutrition and biostimulation directly to the seed, so the young plant had what it needed from germination. Verdesian and Cytozyme later partnered on SEED+ and SEED+ GRAPHITE in the United States.
In India this heritage continues through Verdesian’s seed range and through partnerships with seed companies: Bharat Certis AgriScience launched SD Macro, powered by Cytozyme technology, as its first seed treatment product; and Verdesian has trained seed companies in Seed Enhancement and Emergence Technology (SEEET) and hosted India’s seed industry at its Seed Applied Technology and NUE Conference.
